Put the Kevra app on your Kobo e-reader from this page. You do not need to download or install anything on your computer.
This page also updates or removes it: if your Kobo already has Kevra, it tells you which version it has and lets you update it or uninstall it. Once installed, the app also updates itself when it syncs over wifi.
To copy the app, the browser has to be able to write on the Kobo drive, and today only Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge on a Mac or Windows computer can do it. Safari, Firefox, phones and tablets cannot.
Open this same page in Chrome or Edge on your computer: https://joinkevra.com/kobo
Plug the Kobo into the computer with its USB cable and, on the Kobo screen, tap «Connect». After a few seconds a drive called KOBOeReader appears on the computer.
Press the button and, in the window that opens, choose the KOBOeReader drive itself, not a folder inside it. On a Mac it is in the Finder sidebar, under Locations; on Windows, under This PC. Then press «Select» and allow the page to edit files.
The page downloads the app, checks that every file arrived intact and copies it to the Kobo.
Eject the Kobo (on a Mac: the eject button in the Finder; on Windows: «Safely Remove Hardware») and unplug it. The Kobo will update and restart by itself.
After it restarts you will see the book «Kevra» in your library (tap it to open the app) and also «Kevra» in the menu.
Removes the Kevra app from this Kobo. By default it leaves NickelMenu and KFMon, the two small add-ons that open it, because other apps may be using them; you can remove them too in the next step.
Remove Kevra from this Kobo? Your books are not touched.
This page does not upload anything personal from your Kobo: no books, no serial number. It reads which model and software version it has (and sends us only those two, to know which Kobos to support) and writes the app files. Everything else happens in your browser.
The «Kevra» book appears in your library after the Kobo restarts.
